Head coach Clark Lea just locked in a fresh contract extension with Vanderbilt, capping off one of the most electric seasons in Commodores history. Vanderbilt Athletics and AD Candice Lee made it official on Nov. 28, announcing that Lea is staying put as the Dores ride their historic run, hitting nine regular-season wins for the first time since 1915. That’s a program glow-up.
Before the new deal, Lea ranked No. 56 nationally in head-coach compensation per USA TODAY’s 2025 salary survey.
Basic Blue Nation broke the news on X, noting, “Clark Lea, viewed as another candidate for the Penn State job, has agreed to an extension with Vanderbilt.”
Candice Storey Lee, Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Athletic Director, confirmed that the extension comes with a significant salary increase. Howe
