LSU and Florida have tried for the last two weeks to lure coach Lane Kiffin away from Ole Miss and into their vacant head coaching jobs.
But now, according to Friday reports by On3 and ESPN , the Gators are out of the running.
Florida, the reports said, has shifted its focus away from Kiffin because his recent “irregular” and “erratic” communication has left school officials thinking he’s not interested in their job. Florida has instead pivoted to other candidates such as Washington coach Jedd Fisch, Georgia Tech coach Brent Key and Tulane coach Jon Sumrall , On3 reported.
A few members of Kiffin’s family reportedly flew to Gainesville, Florida, on Nov. 16 — the day before it toured Baton Rouge.
