Tourists are being urged to double-check their visa documents before jetting off after one unlucky woman was left nearly £400 worse off at the airport. Australian jetsetter Lynne Johnston, from Geelong West, Victoria, is warning holidaymakers not to make the same mistake as she did when travelling to Vietnam . As Australians are required to secure a visa to travel there, she obtained one for $25 dollars through the official Vietnamese government website, avoiding “dodgy” online providers which charge hundreds of pounds for visas.

Many visitors choose to apply for online e-visas, yet the document can also be obtained through the Vietnamese embassy or on arrival at the airport. Ms Johnston said she “meticulously” entered her personal details online before sending off the document, which
