Dolly Parton is letting fans know she is grateful, and still going strong, as she faces ongoing health challenges.
The country music legend, 79, shared a heartfelt Thanksgiving video message on Thursday, Nov. 27, wishing her fans blessings and expressing deep gratitude for the memories they have shared. In the video, Parton appeared upbeat and positive, dressed in her signature style, and said:
"Well hey! It's Dolly here, and I want to wish all of you and your family blessings this Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for all of you and for the memories that we've shared through the years. So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and just know that I will always love you."
Fans responded warmly, flooding her social media with well-wishes and messages of support.
While Parton did not mention her health in the Thanksgiving video, she has addressed her recent struggles in other updates this fall. She revealed she has been "dealing with a few health challenges this fall" and that her doctors told her to "take it easy for just a little while."
Parton expressed regret for missing public events, including Dollywood's IAAPA Hall of Fame induction and the Academy's Governors Awards, and explained she needed to stay close to home and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatments.
Parton reassured fans that "nothing is major" but admitted she had neglected her health after the death of her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, in March. "I let a lot go that I should have taken care of," she said in a previous video. She emphasized that if fans heard updates directly from her, they could trust she was okay.
Her health issues, including kidney stones, led to the postponement of her Las Vegas residency to September 2026. Despite these setbacks, Parton has kept her spirits high, telling fans in October, "I ain’t dead yet," and joking about her "100,000-mile check-up."
Parton continues to recover at home, surrounded by friends and family, and is already decorating for the holidays. She thanked fans for their prayers and support, saying she is "not ready to die" and remains grateful for the love she receives
