Plans to refurbish Buchanan Galleries have been approved with work to get underway next year. While a full renovation is to take place from the latter half of 2026, locals are being assured that the revamp will be done in phases so the shopping centre can remain open throughout.

Improvements to the beloved centre include adding more high street retail frontage and a whole new look to its exterior, which aims to create a stronger connection to Buchanan Street . A food hall and a new retail unit on the gap site adjacent to the shopping centre are also to be added in the revamp.

Owners of Buchanan Galleries, Landsec, said that digital art and advertising are also to be heavily incorporated into the new design.
