ATLANTA — A woman was shot in her stomach at an Airbnb in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood, according to police.

Officers with the Atlanta Police Department responded to the call at 42 Lethea Street SE on Thanksgiving morning, around 7:45 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a 26-year-old woman who had been shot in the abdomen. Officers say the woman was alert, breathing, and conscious, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Early investigations indicate that several gunshots were fired into the Airbnb, with one of the shots hitting the woman. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances around the incident.
