Willum Willumsson has suffered a ‘slight setback’ in his recovery from injury.
Birmingham City have been without the Iceland international for three months and he appeared to be closing in on a return.
Willumsson isn’t a million miles away according to Chris Davies, but the Blues boss has revealed that the midfielder has hit a bump in the road to recovery.
“Willum is getting close,” says Davies. “He’s had a slight setback in his end-stage recovery from his initial injury. It’s only minor and we’re hoping it’s only a matter of weeks, not months or anything like that.”
Willumsson is one of four injured players in Blues’ camp alongside Scott Wright, Lee Buchanan and Ethan Laird.
They will be joined on the sidelines by Tomoki Iwata for Monday night’s game against Watford
