CALGARY - The Calgary Flames announced two-year contract extensions for general manager Craig Conroy and other senior management Friday, even though the team said the extensions were signed before this season began.

Conroy, 54, was promoted from assistant general manager to GM in 2023 when Brad Treliving left for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this hockey club,” Conroy said Friday in a statement.

“We have made important strides the last two years, and I believe in the culture of this team. We are excited about the future, and we are all committed to do everything we can to bring success to this franchise.”
