The Scottish Football Association is looking at the possibility of buying Queen’s Park’s City Stadium.
The governing body has expressed an interest in purchasing the Lesser Hampden venue, which is currently the Championship club's home ground. It comes as the SFA is set for a major financial boost following the Scotland team’s qualification for next year’s World Cup finals. President Mike Mulraney has admitted qualification for America, Canada and Mexico could net the SFA more than £10million.
Some of that could be used to buy the City Stadium. Talks have been opened with Queen’s Park and their former major investor Lord Haughey, who put a large chunk of the investment up for the ground that was opened in 2023.
