MARION, Iowa — Marion residents should prepare for significant snowfall as the National Weather Service forecasts about 14 inches of snow from Friday night through Sunday.

The city will enforce Winter Storm Parking from 10 p.m. on November 28 to 5 p.m. on November 30. Parking on city streets is prohibited during this time, with police enforcing restrictions through towing and ticketing.

However, parking is not restricted in Uptown Marion during business hours. Temporary parking is available at several locations, including Lowe Park and Taube Park.

The anticipated opening of the Ice Loop in City Square Park is postponed due to snowfall. It is now set for December 4 at 5 p.m.
