Detroit — Thanksgiving Day went just about as bad as it could have for the Detroit Lions and their chances of making the NFL playoffs.

Not only did the Lions lose to the division rival Packers, but the Dallas Cowboys — Detroit’s next opponent and the team trying to leapfrog the Lions and sneak into the playoffs — picked up their third win in a row by beating the Kansas City Chiefs.
