WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- Deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office pulled over a vehicle on November 24, 2025, near the intersection of Herrin Road and Park Avenue in Herrin. TAuthorities said the stop was initiated after a vehicle was seen without a proper registration plate.
The driver was identified as Opal Teschky. The sheriff's office said she didn't have a valid proof of insurance and deputies noticed an ATV with a tampered ignition in the truck bed.
During a search, the sheriff's office said deputies found cocaine residue in a metal tin, 19.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3.2 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded Sig Sauer P226 9mm handgun, and additional drug paraphernalia.
Teschky was reported as a convicted felon and was arrested without incident. She faces
