H Is for Hawk tells the deeply moving true story of a British academic's battle with depression after the sudden death of her beloved father. The always brilliant Claire Foy gives a stellar lead performance as a headstrong woman whose inability to process grief manifests itself in a startling way. Her efforts to train a spirited goshawk provide comfort and purpose, but prevent closure as friends and family become concerned by an almost "feral" transformation. Told in a flashback structure and with beautiful cinematography, the film takes a gentle approach to handling personal crises and gaining the strength to move on.
