MOORHEAD — People often tell Siham Amedy that they see her everywhere.

The Moorhead resident is involved in a lot — she serves on various boards in the area, including the Moorhead Human Rights Commission. Amedy is behind efforts such as Moorhead’s Welcome Week and the monthly Global Market at the Hjemkomst Center.

“If every time I heard, ‘Hey, you’re everywhere,’ and I had a dollar, I’d be retired,” Amedy said.

It is that involvement in the community, through various efforts like organizing events, working with local governments and showing up, that has made Amedy someone other community members look to for advice and assistance.

“I always welcome that,” Amedy said.
