LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Husker basketball guard Connor Essegian is benched for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Nebraska Men’s Basketball Coach Fred Hoiberg made the announcement Saturday morning, days after the 6-foot-4 senior suffered the injury. Essegian was hurt during Tuesday’s game against Winthrop, leaving midway through the second half.

The Huskers went on to win 80-73.

The Huskers called the injury “significant,” with trainer Andrew McCabe putting the recovery time for such an injury between two and three months.
