A man faces multiple criminal charges after provincial police responded to an intimate partner violence incident in Westport last Tuesday.

Shortly before 10 p.m. on Nov. 25, members of the Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police went to a residence where a male suspect had refused to leave, OPP reported Saturday.

As a result of their investigation, officers arrested the man and charged him with: assault; three counts of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence; mischief – destroy or damage property; criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate; and failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.

Police remanded the accused into custody following a bail hearing in Brockville court.
