MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Toledo faced as much adversity as it had all season, being down on the scoreboard and at starting quarterback.
The Rockets, however, scored 21 unanswered points to come away with a 21-3 road win over Central Michigan on Saturday.
“Just really proud of this team,” Toledo head coach Jason Candle said. “We said at halftime that if we could just get the first stop in the third quarter, get some movement, and get Kalieb Osborne settled in, we would catch rhythm and we did.”
Osborne, a redshirt freshman quarterback, was originally slated to be the third-string signal caller and had only seen time after games were decided this season. After starter Tucker Gleason got hurt in the first half, Osborne threw for 108 yards and a touchdown.
