With Chicago's winter overnight parking ban going into effect early Monday morning, drivers will want to mind the parking enforcement signs on major streets or risk of facing at least $200 in fines.
The parking ban goes into effect at 3 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1 and is in effect daily through 7 a.m. until April 1.
Permanent signage advertising the ban is posted along the 107 miles of main streets it applies to throughout the city. The Department of Streets and Sanitation is also posting flyers on cars parked on the streets affected by the ban as a reminder before the restrictions start, the department said in a release.
Vehicles left parked in violation of the ban will be towed and their owner will face a minimum $150 towing fee, $60 ticket and a $25 daily storage fee.
