Kevin Lankinen needs to channel his record-setting NHL road show of last season.

And right-winger Jonathan Lekkerimaki needs to make the most of his latest opportunity with the Vancouver Canucks .

Lankinen returns to the net Saturday night in Los Angeles after missing two games for personal reasons. The veteran goaltender is not having a vintage season and his bloated numbers speak to the challenge of being “the guy” in another injury absence of starter Thatcher Demko .

Demko is skating in Vancouver as he continues to recover from a Nov. 11 groin injury, while Jiri Patera was returned to the AHL affiliate in Abbotsford on Saturday. Injured winger Nils Hoglander is practising with the Canucks.
