WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Jeff Adams, the owner of Windy Knoll Tree Farm, saw a huge turnout for their opening weekend after Thanksgiving.
Adams guesses that they’ve already sold over half their stock on this opening weekend. Their goal is tradition, because what better way to start the holidays than beginning with the freshest tree you can find: One that you cut down yourself.
“It really becomes a family tradition and you just never come across anybody that’s not in a good mood,” said Jeff Adams, owner of Windy Knoll Tree Farm.
“There’s about 6,000 trees, we have right about between five and six acres of actual trees, there’s about 1200 trees per acre,” Adams said.
He expects to sell around 300 trees in total this year, but that does not reflect the yearly work that is put into it.
