BYU trolls Texas’ Steve Sarkisian with CFP jab after win

BYU took a playful jab at Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian on Saturday night following a 41-21 win over UCF that clinched an 11-1 regular season and a trip to the Big 12 Championship game.

After No. 16 Texas upset No. 3 Texas A&M on Friday, Sarkisian made his case for a College Football Playoff berth, saying it would be “a disservice to our sport” if the three-loss Longhorns were left out. BYU responded by posting the same quote alongside the final score of its victory, sparking social media buzz.

The Cougars are currently ranked No. 11 in the CFP standings, well ahead of Texas. If BYU defeats Texas Tech in the Big 12 title game, it would earn an automatic playoff bid.
