HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mostly dry and stable conditions are prevailing as a high pressure ridge remains parked over the islands. Winds will be light with afternoon sea breezes, but very little, if any rainfall is expected through Tuesday.
There’s a First Alert for a front that could increase rainfall for the western end of the state Wednesday, with the showers focused on Kauai. There’s a high degree of uncertainty in this forecast, however. Trade winds and windward showers should return Thursday into Friday.
The big story in weather is the surf, with a high surf warning in effect for most north and west shores. The dangerous west-northwest swell is expected to peak overnight Saturday into Sunday.
