Morristown East boy and girls took part in the Gibbs Thanksgiving Tournament this week.

The Lady ‘Canes went 2-1 on the week, losing in the semifinals to Clinton, but they took the third-place game 69-10 over Cosby. The ‘Canes went 0-3 on the week with.

The ‘Canes fell to the Eagles on Friday after Kymani Smith and Jax Sparks combined for 42 points.

East kept it close for most of the night, but it could not overcome a 23-point fourth quarter from HVA.

The ‘Canes were down six at the half and trailed by just two points entering the final quarter, but Smith and Sparks each scored eight to help close out East.

Brayden Smith led East with 15, Chance Stokely had 14 and Jaxson Arched added 10 in the loss.
