OXFORD, Miss. - ESPN reported that the expectation is LSU will hire Kiffin away from Ole Miss on Sunday.
ESPN's source cautioned that the deal was not signed as of late Saturday but added that it "would be a shock" if he didn't sign it.
Kiffin would be paid $12 million annually over 7 years, which would make him one of the top paid head coaches in college football.
The Ole Miss Rebels finished an 11-1 regular season Saturday with a 38-19 win over Mississippi State, nearly ensuring a bid to the college football playoff.
But, according to ESPN , Kiffin will not coach Ole Miss during the CFP, "barring an unexpected change." ESPN's sources said Kiffin will hold a meeting with Ole Miss players Sunday morning, then announce his coaching future to the public.
