Two young women who tragically died in a collision have been named, while a nine-year-old child remains in hospital.

The crash, which involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto, took place at around 6.20am on Thursday 27 November.

Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were pronounced dead at the scene in Pleasley, Derbyshire. Meanwhile, a nine-year-old boy who was in the same car suffered serious life-changing injuries and was rushed to hospital where he remains.

Three men who were in the other car, the Vauxhall, including the man suspected of causing the crash, were also injured, two of them seriously..
