The Kent Free Library has a happy issue of good fortune that must be addressed early in 2026.
Stacey Richardson, director of the library, says the Carnegie Foundation is donating $10,000 to the Kent Free Library. It is to be used however trustees wish to celebrate the 250 th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence; to further the library’s mission; and to benefit the community.
She said Kent Free Library’s leadership team expects to receive the money in January 2026, and is starting to brainstorm how best to use it.
“We are considering all options to ensure that we continue providing resources and programs to the Kent community,” Richardson said. “This money will enhance what we already do to serve our residents and continue our tradition of excellence.”
