Louisville first responders found a vehicle in the Ohio River late Nov. 29, though no one was located inside, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.
Officers from LMPD's First Division responded to a call of a water rescue near the Great Lawn of Waterfront Park around 7:30 p.m., Ellis said. A tugboat crew reported seeing a vehicle enter the river near Joe's Crab Shack.
While First Division officers searched the waterfront grounds, a crew from the Louisville Fire Department launched a boat to help with the investigation, Ellis said. LMPD's River Unit stopped traffic on the river while the search for a vehicle continued.
