Around 6:20 a.m. Sunday, 21 News heard reports of a fire with possible injuries in New Castle on the 400 block of Waldo Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, a news crew observed that the fire had damaged the building's roof.
It was reported that somebody within the house had woken up and saw flames before walking outside to look for a fire extinguisher. At the time, the individual said that they couldn’t call anyone because they couldn’t find their phone.
The residence is an apartment-type building that has three apartments in it. Residents said that 12 people lived in the building, all of whom made it outside.
Two animals died in the fire, with no residents reported to have injuries at this time.
The cause of the fire is unknown. This story will be updated upon finding new information
