The suspect and victim in a fatal Carolina Beach shooting early Saturday morning have been identified as father and son.

Carolina Beach police responded to a shooting a residence in the 700 block of Harper Avenue just after midnight on Nov. 29.

There officers found the deceased victim and took a suspect into custody.

Sunday morning police identified the suspect as Robert Strauss Davis, 62, of Carolina Beach, and the victim as Andrew Tyler Davis, 39, also of Carolina Beach.

"The individuals were determined to be father and son," stated the Sunday morning news release.

Robert Davis has been charged with second-degree murder, and is currently in New Hanover County jail under no bond.
