A 31-year-old man accused of firing a dozen shots on a busy Dutchess County street over the summer, hitting an innocent bystander in the process, has been arraigned on attempted murder charges.
Poughkeepsie resident Anthony Guillen was arraigned on Friday, Nov. 28, in Dutchess County Court on six felony counts returned by a grand jury, the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office announced on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The indictment includes two counts of attempted murder, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and two separate counts of first-degree assault.
Prosecutors said the charges stem from a July 18, 2025 shooting near 386 Main St. in the City of Poughkeepsie, where Guillen is accused of firing approximately 12 rounds in a populated area.
One of the bullets struck a bystander in the leg, causing serious injury. The victim was treated at a hospital, prosecutors added.
A judge set Guillen's bail at $750,000 cash, $1.5 million bond, or $3 million partially secured bond. Guillen is due back in court on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
