There are a few things up for grabs on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis: a Big Ten football championship, the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff — and probably the Heisman Trophy .
Quarterback Fernando Mendoza is the current favorite to become Indiana 's first Heisman winner. Running back Anthony Thompson was the runner-up in 1989.
Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is the second-favorite, with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love ( who suffered a rib injury to watch late Saturday night ) and Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia also on the list.
The Heisman Trophy will be presented Dec. 13 in New York.
