KITTERY, Maine — A 44-year-old Harrison man was arrested early Sunday after a high-speed chase that began in New Hampshire and continued onto the Maine Turnpike, according to Maine State Police.
New Hampshire State Police first attempted to stop a Dodge Ram pickup for speeding and erratic driving, police said. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Matthew Olsen, refused to stop for a local police department, and during the pursuit, he rammed a New Hampshire State Police cruiser, according to police.
When Olsen crossed into Maine on Interstate 95 in Kittery, Maine State Police took over the chase. Troopers said the pursuit continued northbound until Olsen drove over a curb at the Kennebunk service plaza, damaging his tires before reentering the highway.
