CANDIA, N.H. — Icy conditions contributed to a series of crashes Friday evening on Route 101 in Candia, New Hampshire, leaving a dozen drivers with minor injuries, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Troopers were called around 5 p.m. to two separate multi-vehicle crashes just east of Exit 3 on the eastbound side of the highway. Four drivers in the first crash and eight in the second were treated for minor injuries, police said. All of their vehicles were towed from the scene.
As troopers investigated those crashes, six additional crashes occurred in the same area. State police said the additional incidents appeared to be caused by drivers traveling too fast for the icy conditions.
