On Sunday at 1:14 p.m. the National Weather Service released a winter storm watch valid from Tuesday 7 a.m. until Wednesday 1 a.m. for Berkshire County.

The weather service describes, “Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations over 7 inches possible.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes,” says the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.”
