The FDNY responded to a car fire on the Staten Island Expressway near Sunnyside on Sunday morning.

The incident was called in at 10:20 a.m. on the Verrazzano Bridge-bound side of the Expressway near the Clove Road, Richmond Road and Targee Street exit at exit 13, according to an FDNY spokesperson.

While the spokesperson did not detail the department’s response or the circumstances of the fire, they did confirm there were no injuries during the incident.

According to video posted to the Citizen app, at least three fire engines responded to the car fire, with the shoulder and three rightmost lanes blocked off to traffic.

By 11:25 a.m., all signs of the fire had been cleared from the side of the Expressway.
