MILLVALE, Pa. —
After nearly a century in business, a staple restaurant in the Millvale community opened its doors for the last time on Saturday.
In a Facebook post earlier this month, Millvale Borough Mayor Brian Spoales said the Grant Bar would close after 90 years, saying, "It has been a true institution—a cornerstone of our community and a reliable gathering place across three generations of families. For nearly a century, it has represented the very best of Millvale's spirit: warmth, unwavering hospitality, and a deep sense of connection." Advertisement
The building was originally a hotel. It was converted into a tavern after Prohibition and grew into becoming a local favorite.
