Some 3-to- 5 inches of snow could fall across northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley on Tuesday, while New York City is expected to see mostly rain.
A low pressure system will bring precipitation to the entire region , but the type of precipitation will be dependent on temperature, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
While slightly higher temperatures will mean rain for the five boroughs and Long Island , multiple inches of snow could fall north and west of the city. However, snowfall is far from guaranteed.
