5Columbia, MO – A mother has been arrested for allegedly abusing and starving her child in Missouri. Breashia Jwantae Grant was taken into custody on Friday after being charged with felony first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and felony third-degree domestic assault.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department received multiple calls on Friday around noon regarding a child who appeared to be hiding from passing vehicles. Upon arrival, deputies found the child, who reported running away due to physical abuse.

The child stated that Grant struck them with a phone charging cable more than ten times. The victim displayed injuries on the arm, including swelling and scarring consistent with repeated abuse.
