LANCASTER, S.C. – An 18-year-old woman was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Lancaster on Saturday night, according to the Lancaster Police Department.

Around 11:30 p.m., police responded to the Palmetto Place Apartments off Pardue Street in regards to a report of an unresponsive person.

Upon arrival, officers located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Violence of this nature is unacceptable in our community. We are dedicated to investigating this incident thoroughly and will pursue justice for the victim and her family. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time as we work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this crime,” stated Chief Don Roper.
