Pedestrian dead after hit-and-run south of Hillsboro, sheriff’s office says

One person is dead after an apparent hit-and-run south of Hillsboro on Saturday night, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.

Authorities think a vehicle hit a pedestrian around 6:15 on Southwest Minter Bridge Road, detective Anel Cerić said, but deputies have not yet confirmed what kind of vehicle was involved in the accident.

The pedestrian has not been identified.
