STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A report of fire in West Brighton prompted another emergency response of 12 units of fire department units on Sunday evening — at the same home where a fire occurred Sunday morning.
Approximately 60 firefighters and EMS personnel helped to battle the blaze located at 28 Elizabeth St., around 4:43 p.m. on Sunday evening, an FDNY spokesperson said.
The fire was place under control by 5:43 p.m., according to the FDNY. One firefighter was taken to an area hospital with non-serious injuries.
The home is unoccupied, according to an FDNY spokesperson.
Firefighters are focusing their efforts on what appears to be a third floor attic, and moved down to investigate the home’s second floor.
Multiple ladders are in use, as of 6:10 p.m.
