WATERVILLE, Maine — Hundreds of people gathered in Waterville on Sunday for the final day of its Festival of Trees , which gives back to local initiatives.

"Every year, we look forward to doing it and coming up with a new theme,” Jaime Plourde, a real estate agent at Coldwell Bank, said.

Plourde and her team’s “golf” tree is one of more than 50 on display at the Waterville Elks Banquet Center.

"We glued all this together, made our own custom ornament, and just tried to find one way to tie in the theme to the tree,” Plourde said.

The attention to detail is something that caught Jemma Simonds' eye.

"It has a golf cart,” Jemma said.

She has been attending Waterville’s Festival of Trees with her mom, Jessica, ever since she was a baby.
