The Carolina Hurricanes walked out of Sunday night with a 1-0 win over the Calgary Flames, but the biggest story was the man in net. Rookie goaltender Brandon Bussi posted the first shutout of his NHL career, and head coach Rod Brind’Amour didn’t hold back when asked about his young goalie afterward.

Brind’Amour said Bussi isn’t getting flooded with shots every night, but when the Hurricanes break down, he finds the key stop at the key moment. Those saves, the coach said, are the difference in tight games and have allowed Carolina to stay steady in low-scoring battles.
