The Vegas Golden Knights are preparing to give Carter Hart his first NHL start of the season, and his first chance back in the league after a long legal battle that kept him off the ice. The 27-year-old goaltender is reportedly expected to make his Vegas debut against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday after being officially added to the Golden Knights’ main roster.

Hart signed a two-year deal with Vegas in October, shortly after he became eligible to return to professional hockey. His comeback only became possible after he and four other players from Canada’s 2018 World Junior team were acquitted in July in a high-profile sexual-assault case. Until that ruling, Hart could not sign with any NHL club or play in regular-season games.
