NEW ORLEANS — The Navy, with permission from the family, has identified the second person aboard the Cessna airplane that went down in Lake Pontchartrain.

Navy spokesperson LCDR Katie Diener confirmed to WWL that Lt. David Michael Jahn, 30, a private pilot, is presumed dead after the Cessna Skyhawk he and his flight instructor, Taylor Dickey, 30, plunged into .

His family released a statement Monday saying, "David was a man of God and dedicated to his family. His character will live on in his wife and their expected child. He loved the gift of life and embraced living to the fullest, with a love of exploring, adventure, and travel, always guided by Jesus and his service to others and his country."
