VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Drivers heading through the Newtown Road area are still experiencing delays Monday morning, though traffic is moving better than earlier.

Several lanes remain closed on the westbound side of I-264 in Virginia Beach following a multi-vehicle crash, but the eastbound lanes on the Norfolk side have now been completely cleared.

On the Virginia Beach side, the westbound inside lanes near Newtown Road remain shut down, though congestion has eased from earlier backups. With the eastbound lanes reopened on the Norfolk side, traffic is flowing more normally in that direction.

Motorists should still expect some delays on the westbound side, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes. Emergency crews remain on scene working to finish clearing the westbound crash.
