COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sunday marked one of the busiest travel days of the year as millions of Americans returned home after the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

At John Glenn Columbus International Airport, crowds packed baggage claim and security lines as travelers made their way back to central Ohio.

“Getting back, the airport was really crowded and to go and get our bags and stuff, it was really hard, and there were a lot of lines,” one traveler said.

AAA estimates 6 million people nationwide will take domestic flights over the holiday period through Monday, a slight increase from last year.

Some passengers worried about delays and cancellations on the peak travel day.
