RED WING, Minn. — Minnesota State College Southeast's Band Instrument Repair program has received its first endowed scholarship, thanks to a $25,000 donation from Keith and Dawn Parker.

Dawn Parker, a graduate of the college's Band Instrument Repair program, and her husband Keith, established the Keith P. and Dawn L. Parker Scholarship Fund to support students pursuing careers in band instrument repair.

Dawn, who taught band for 30 years, was inspired to learn the craft as a potential second career after retirement. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to students in the program, with preference for adult learners over 25 who demonstrate financial need.
