ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - A man was taken to the hospital after a house fire in Rock Island Monday morning.

A neighbor called in the fire at about 5:53 a.m. in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue, Rock Island Fire Chief Robert Graff said.

The fire burnt power lines and neighbors are without power, Graff said.

The house is a total loss. Graff said 11th Street at 15th Avenue is closed as crews continue to work.

A KWQC crew could see the Rock Island fire marshal, Rock Island Fire Department, Moline Fire Department and MidAmerican on scene.

Smoke could be seen over Rock Island from KWQC’s Skyview camera at about 6:08 a.m.
