SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is dead after a serious single-car crash on a busy road in Surprise on Monday morning.
At about 2:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the area of 211th Avenue and Sun Valley Parkway on reports of a crash notification from an iPhone.
Police arrived and found a car that had left the roadway with no one inside, according to the Surprise Police Department. During a search, officers found a dead man who had been ejected from the car.
Detectives believe the man may have been speeding and not wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened.
“We want to take this opportunity to remind our community to always wear a seatbelt,” The department said in a statement, “Doing so greatly increases your chances of surviving a serious crash.”
